Somewhere in an American metropolis, a rusted bicycle left to wither on a lonely bike rack has been freed.
There is a MATTOID on the loose in the U.S.A..
He comes from a land where the days and nights can last for months. If you listen closely to his signature "sango" music, you can hear the spiraling beckon of a never ending darkness, tempered by a tireless star that burns with a smile.
On some days, THE MATTOID is "so sad." Perhaps he feels his art is misunderstood. Is he a velvet clown or a velvet Elvis? It is sometimes hard to discern the joker from the performer. Beneath the wink of his laser guided lyrical minimalism, Mr. MATTOID has a pounding heart just waiting to bellow his rallying call, "RIGHT ON BABY!"
When the sango is rockin' and the feet start
to move, THE MATTOID is most definitely "so good."
This wandering troubadour stands on the threshold of a new era for his ancient throat-singing art. Morphius Records of Baltimore has picked up the album "HELLO" and is now distributing it to record stores across the U.S.. The record is also receiving play on London radio and has even been imported by Bomba Records of Tokyo.
Cleft Music of Nashville, TN is proud to release THE MATTOID's first, studio-produced album and is committed to supporting the further exploits of this barking eccentric. A follow up EP will be released after the summer so stay tuned as THE MATTOID climbs up the mountatin, sails the ocean and reaches all those shiny stars
