Doug Black, aka The Purple Organ, recieved his BFA from the Art Institute in Chicago, and his paintings have been shown at galleries throughout New York City.   He quit painting in 1993 to eventually become THE PURPLE ORGAN - A self-contained sexplosion of nasty erotic lyrics and humorous social commentary amidst a blasting, fuzzy distorted acoutic guitar played as a drum.  Purple has authored three shows for Surf Reality's "Grindhouse-A-Go-Go!" series

Purple Organ co-produced "Running with Scissors" music showcaseat Joe's Pubic Theatre; and toured England playing bass for Dufus.
